We term this segment EOD, which was set up in the company Heinrich Luthe in Luckenwalde as early as 1994. The original purpose was the development, manufacture and operation of facilities with which retrieved explosive ordnance was to be processed and explosives thermally destroyed. For example, it was possible to put an MEA-1 EOD system and a safety container with band saw into operation in 1994 and for retrieved explosive ordnance to be destroyed in an environmentally friendly manner on a former military training area for the explosive ordnance recovery service of the federal state of Brandenburg at that time.
This was followed by several development steps in order to improve the technology and expand the facilities. In the subsequent period, explosive ordnance was disposed of for other federal state clearance services and clients at various locations. During EXPO 2000, the technology and procedures were presented to interested staff from the domestic and foreign defence ministries.
In 2002, a new generation of MEA 2 EOD systems were developed, three systems built and in 2003 two stationary systems including building services and waste gas purification delivered to the Saxon explosive ordnance removal service and Italian defence industry. In 2005 a mobile system with additional facilities was sold to Qatar. In addition, international experience also exists in Greece, Spain, Moldavia, Ukraine and Austria.
Since 2008 we have operated a mobile EOD system in stationary mode approved according to Federal Immissions Act (BImSchG) at the Winsen/Aller location.
Our service spectrum includes stocktaking, preparing disposal concepts, project management, manufacturer selection and monitoring, start-up and technology description including training and instruction of operating personnel. Approval procedures are carried out and documentation compiled.
